Manna Cafe (upstairs), Kells
Chinese Welfare Association Logo

The Chinese Welfare Association in Belfast will offer us a presentation on migration, multiculturalism and Chinese culture with a taster of mandarin and a real dragon (for dancing) thrown in!

This will take place above 'Manna' cafe in Kells, near Ballymena for Friday 12th Feb at 10.30 - the cafe is an added bonus for nice coffees (or lunch!) after.

Let us know if you'd like to come. We need certain numbers to make it viable to go ahead. The presentation itself lasts about an hour although we can stay in the space as long as we'd like to.

The presentation is for Primary aged children though older or younger siblings can look on. For hire of the space The organiser is suggesting £3 per family although if we get more families we will refund monies!

Chinese New Year is always a fantastic celebration at the co-op. We will have two dragons for a dragon procession. This year we are also planning on learning a lion dance!
We will learn about the year of the monkey, how to write and say monkey in Chinese as well as some other basic characters and numbers. We will be making Chinese food and listening to Chinese music.

There is a charge for each family, with a discounted rate if you pay more than a week in advance.

World of Owls

Sleepover at An Creagan

Tue, 17/05/2016 (All day) - Wed, 18/05/2016 (All day)
An Creagan
Bronze Age bread making at An Creagan

A fantastic opportunity to stay at An Creagan. The roundhouse is too small for many to sleep in so we'll bring tents and use it as the communal space. The date is fairly arbitrary in the early stages of organisation so please say if it doesn't suit for some reason. There will be activities during the day, and of course the Wild Woods to explore. Booking will be essential.

Facilities are limited since it isn't an official camp site - so we will need to come prepared, but there are toilets and taps!

Daubing the Roundhouse

Thu, 19/11/2015 - 10:00am
An Creagan

Some home educating families will be joining in with the final stages of building the Bronze Age Roundhouse at An Creagan. This is not our normal home-ed session but a public open event.
